Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do I need to appear for any written test or interview for this apprenticeship?

Selection is purely merit‑based on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying academic program. There is no written examination or personal interview.

2. Can I apply for more than one trade code or state?

Each candidate may submit only one application for a single trade code and a single state. Submitting multiple entries will lead to disqualification.

3. What happens after I complete the 12‑month apprenticeship?

Upon successful completion, IOCL awards a Certificate of Proficiency recognized by the Government of India. This certificate is accepted as relevant experience for future PSU vacancies (e.g., ONGC, GAIL, HPCL) and may give you a preferential edge for permanent roles within IOCL, should they arise.
