Frequently Asked Questions

Can a candidate with only a 10th‑pass apply for the Telecommunication Constable post?

The Telecommunication cadre explicitly requires 10+2 with Science. Candidates holding only a matriculation certificate are eligible only for the Armed/IRP or SDRF posts.

Is there any relaxation in the height requirement for female candidates?

Female candidates must meet a minimum height of 5 ft 2 in. No category‑based height relaxation is mentioned, but Gorkha and Bot Tribe candidates receive a 5 cm (≈2 in) height relaxation for both genders.

What happens if I miss the 2 March 2026 deadline by a few hours?

JKSSB’s online portal shuts down strictly at 11:59 PM IST on the last day. Applications submitted after the cut‑off will be rejected automatically, and no manual extensions are granted. It is advisable to submit well before the deadline to avoid technical glitches.
